Flood relief donated to Bihar victims

CHENNAI: Defence personnel handed over flood relief material worth Rs.5 lakh for victims of the Bihar flood at the Station Master’s office in Central Station on Thursday.
Despatch on Saturday
The package will be dispatched by Southern Railway from Chennai Central on Saturday. It will reach Katihar station in Bihar on Monday.
The donation was made on behalf of Lt.General Nobel Thamburaj, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, Major-General EJ Kochekkan, G-O-C, ATNK&K and Army Wives Welfare Association based in Pune. The material comprises 3,000 packets.
Each packet contains biscuits, emergency medicines, soaps, candles, match boxes and toothpowder.
Contributions invited
The Indian Red Cross Society has appealed to the public to donate relief material for Bihar flood victims in cash and kind (except used/old clothes).
The contributions may be sent to the Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch, 50, Montieth Road, Egmore, Chennai.
