A course that will tone up you

CHENNAI: The Department of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, Sri Ramachandra University, in collaboration with the Department of Indian Music and University Industry Community Interaction Centre, University of Madras, will conduct a certificate course in ‘Voice conservation and care’ during weekends.

The course, which will begin on September 13, will be conducted for three months with tutorial and practical classes, said a release from Sri Ramachandra University.

It aims at equipping singers, teachers, radio jockeys and call centre employees who are likely to use their voice extensively, the release said.

Course content

The course content will include basic anatomy and physiology of the vocal system, cause and prevention of voice disorders, breathing exercises, voice culture, learning voice projection, enhancement and healthy voice production.
