NEW DELHI: Second-seeded Saina Nehwal moved into the quarterfinals of the Chinese Taipei Open badminton tournament beating Hong Kong’s Kwan Yi Mong 21-8, 21-12 on Thursday. According to information received here, Saina will play Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk for a place in the semifinal, probably against Beijing Olympics bronze medallist Indonesia’s Maria Kristin Yulianti. It may be recalled that Saina went down to Yulianti in three games in the quarterfinals at Beijing. In the men’s section, India’s lone entry P. Kashyap stunned second-seeded Malaysian Sairul Amar Ayob 17-21, 23-21, 21-14 but lost 16-21, 14-21 in the pre-quarterfinals to Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto.
