A wash out

VISAKHAPATNAM: The last round-robin match in the ACA under-16 inter-Zone cricket tournament for the P.S. Venkateswara Rao Trophy between North Zone and Central Zone was completely washed out as rain prevented play on Thursday, the final day also, at the Vizzy Stadium in Vizianagaram.

North and South, with six points each, are tied for the top spot and the winner will be announced after completing the three-day selection match between teams of probables selected from the first two matches of the tournament, commencing on Saturday.

Venkatagiri Cup

Meanwhile, the second day’s play between Central Zone and North Zone in the ACA seniors’ inter-Zone tournament for the Venkatagiri Cup (Ranji selection) at the Port Stadium here was also washed out. Two days’ play is left in the match.
