Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: A library established in memory of former DMK MLA and general secretary of The Hindu Office and National Press Employees’ Union N.P. Ramajayam was inaugurated here on Wednesday.

Opening the facility, located on Kamarajar Salai, Raja Annamalaipuram, DMK leaders, led by general secretary and Finance Minister K. Anbazhagan, paid rich tributes to Ramajayam and recalled his contribution to the party and the people.

The Minister said it was a noble initiative of Ramajayam’s sons, Senthil and Arun, to set up the library for spreading knowledge, particularly among the younger generation.

The library’s inauguration coincided with the first death anniversary of the former MLA.

Mr. Anbazhagan said Ramajayam had always worked for strengthening the party and won the hearts of the people by his humorous speech and tactful handling of issues.

DMK South Chennai district secretary J. Anbazhagan said Rs. 1 lakh would be presented from the DMK district for buying more Tamil books for the library.
