Dheeraj shines

MYSORE: An inspired display by Dheeraj Shetty, who scored 46 points, helped SAI (Dharwad) score a 90-36 win over Protec (Mysore) in the men’s section and enter the pre-quarterfinals of the state-level invitation basketball tournament here on Wednesday.

The results (first round): Men: SAI (Dharwad) 90 (Dheeraj Shetty 46) bt Protec 36 (Prajwal 12); Raising Star, Mysore 63 (Arjun 14, Vikas 16) bt Kanaka, Kolar 61 (Guruprasad 26, Vishwanath 18).

Women: IBBC, Bangalore 45 (Ashwini 18) bt NITTE, Udipi 44 (Ashitha 21).
