RIL donates Rs. 11 crore for Bihar flood relief
Sujay Mehdudia
NEW DELHI: The Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries Limited on Wednesday announced a donation of Rs. 11 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood victims in Bihar.
Handing over the cheque to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Nita Ambani, chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation, reiterated the company’s resolve to partner the State in alleviating the suffering of the people and helping in future relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Given the scale of the disaster, companies need to extend a helping hand to the Bihar government as well as the agencies involved with relief efforts, she said.
Ms. Ambani hoped the funds would be utilised to check epidemics and provide preventive vaccination to all, especially the children and the old people.
