Faulty electoral list brings rivals together

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: For once the Opposition and the ruling party found themselves on the same page. When Leader of the Opposition Jagdish Mukhi drew attention to the bloopers in the electoral list, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit seized the opportunity to urge the BJP to join forces with the Congress and take up the issue with the Election Commission.

Ms. Dikshit urged Prof. Mukhi to accompany her to the Election Commission to report the discrepancies in the electoral list, which could deprive hundreds of people of their voting rights.

Prof. Mukhi was referring to the complaints regarding the electoral list where names and photographs have been mismatched, addresses shuffled and relations mixed up.
