Special session on Monday at 11 a.m.
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The special session of the State Assembly to take up the no-confidence motion against Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy moved by the Telugu Desam Party and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) will be held on September 15.
The Assembly will be convened at 11 a.m., according to a press release issued by K. Tuljanand Singh, Legislature Secretary. It was originally scheduled to start at 10 am.
The commencement of the session has been postponed by one hour because of reservations expressed by police authorities in view of the Ganesh immersion procession in the city which generally spilled over into the morning hours of next day.
The session will start with the Deputy Speaker reading out the notice of no-confidence issued by the two parties and asking at least 50 members in the present House of 290 to support the same before the motion was finally discussed and put to vote. The strength of the TDP in the House is 46 and that of TRS seven. Both parties are hopeful that all their MLAs would support the notice.
Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Legislature Party (TDLP) issued a whip to all the party members to be present without fail in the session during consideration, debate and voting on the motion. It was signed by TDLP whip P. Keshav.
