THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Under the aegis of the Institute of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Kerala, a series of workshops on legislative procedure would be organised from September 16. According to information made available by the institute, the first of the workshops would be for a batch of 10 to 15 MLAs, from September 16 to 18. The workshop would be inaugurated by Speaker K. Radhakrishnan at the Old Legislative Assembly Hall at 9.30 a.m. on September 16. The idea behind these workshops is to provide the people’s representatives a comprehensive picture of the entire gamut of law making — from the point a Bill is conceptualised to when it finally gets the Governor’s assent. The workshop series will give particular focus on training first-time MLAs, a press note issued here said.
