SRM bags two titles

Chennai: SRM University performed creditably at the State-level tournaments organised by Kongu Engineering College, Erode which ended on Monday, winning the men’s volleyball and women’s badminton tournaments.

The results: Men’s volleyball: Final: SRM University bt Krishnan Arts College 25-22, 22-25, 25-17, 25-21. League: SRM bt Dr. NGP College (Pollachi) 25-5, 25-16, 27-25; SRM bt Sathyabama University 25-22, 25-19, 25-14. Knock-out: SRM bt CSI Arts College (Ooty) 25-4, 25-8; SRM bt Karunya University 25-16, 25-21.

Women’s badminton: Final: SRM University bt PSG Arts College (Coimbatore) 2-1. League matches: SRM bt KSR College (Thiruchengode) 2-0; SRM bt Kongu Engineering College (Erode) 2-0.

Cricket tournament

The Blue Sky Cricket Academy will conduct the Madhanraj league Trophy tournament from September 20.

The tournament is open to private clubs, coaching camps, schools and colleges and entries close on September 18.

Matches (30 overs-a-side) will be played on weekends and Government holidays.
