EME Centre emerges champion

HYDERABAD: EME Centre won the inaugural Talasani Sandeep Yadav memorial Trust one-day volleyball tournament at Audiahnagar with two wins in the round-robin format here on Tuesday.

EME first defeated Centre of Excellence 25-18, 16-25, 25-14, 25-20 and then got the better of Hyderabad Mayors 25-13, 25-21, 25-22.

Centre of Excellence finished second with a 25-18, 25-19, 25-20 win over Hyderabad Mayors.

The winner took home Rs. 10,000, the runner-up Rs. 7,000 and the third-placed team Rs. 5,000.

Easy for Rohit

A. K. Rohit blanked R. Srivastava 6-0 in the boys’ under-eight pre-quarterfinals of the YMCA Independence Day mini and sub-junior tennis tournament here.

Sub-junior badminton

The Andhra Pradesh State sub-junior (under-16) badminton championship will be held at the Sri Gurugobind Singji GHMC sports complex (Ameerpet) from September 10 to 13. Around 140 players from 22 districts would be vying for honours.

The seedings: Boys: 1. N. V. S. Vijetha, 2. Sri Teja, 3. Vishal Dev Reddy, 4. Khaja Ahmed, 5. K. Srikanth, 6. B. Venkatesh, 7. O. Prahas Reddy and 8. C. Rohit Yadav.

OU camp

ITF junior tournament

The Andhra Pradesh Lawn Tennis Association will host the ITF juniors (grade 5) championship for under-18 boys and girls at the SAAP Tennis Complex from Sept. 13 to 20.

The sign-in for the qualifying rounds will be on Sept. 12 and the main draw will begin on Sept. 14. Call 94404-22920 for details.

Golf clinic held

Jain International School, in association with the Hyderabad Golf Association, conducted a golf clinic for boys and girls in the age group of five to 15 under the guidance of chief coach of HGA, G. S. Krishnan.
