NEW DELHI: With just a couple of days left for filing of the charge sheet in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case within the stipulated 90-day period, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday said it would do so only after completion of the investigation. Having failed to find the murder weapon and the mobile phones of the victims even after four months of the crime, the CBI has now announced a reward of Rs.1 lakh to anyone providing inputs leading to their recovery. According to the CBI, the weapon used was heavy and sharp-edged and could also be a kukri. Aarushi’s mobile phone was a Nokia N-72 gloss black model with the SIM card no. 9910520630. Hemraj used a Tata Indicom mobile set with the electronic serial number #20 CFA 3 EC. His mobile number was 9213515485. CBI Deputy Director (International Police Cooperation Unit) Neeraja Gotru told journalists that a letter had been sent to Nepal seeking assistance in locating some witnesses and the mobile phones. “The CBI will file its report under Section 173 of the Code of Criminal Procedure only on conclusion of investigation. The facts of the case will be presented before the court,” she said. “Section 167 of the Cr. PC gives every person in custody the right to be released on bail if no charge sheet is filed within 90 days of custody. If and when the bail applications of the accused come up in court, the full facts of the case will be presented in a truthful, legal and professional manner.” Aarushi, daughter of dentist Rajesh Talwar, was found murdered in her Sector 25 house in Noida on May 16 and the body of the domestic help Hemraj was discovered on the terrace a day later.
