No status of nuclear weapons power: Swamy

CHENNAI: Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has criticised the way the NSG waiver has been obtained for India.

In a statement, he said that from now on the country would be “living well in the nuclear world but enjoying no formal status of a nuclear weapons power.”

Even the Congress spokesperson had admitted that the country had got now “de facto nuclear weapons power status” with the waiver, he said.
