Designer award

KOCHI: Architect G. Sankar and Centre for Science and Technology for Rural Development (COSTFORD) have been selected for Designer Laurie Baker Award.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, L. Gopakumar, managing director of Designer Publications, which has instituted the award, said the two were selected for the award as they had the maximum number of nominations from the public. Both Mr. Sankar and COSTFORD had about 100 nominations, said Rema S. Kartha, editor of Designer. The award comprising Rs. 10,000 in cash and a memento, will be given away on September 20 at the International Stadium, Kaloor, at a function.
