KOLKATA: Girish Koushik of St. Thomas School (Mysore) settled for a quick draw in the final round to ensure the crown in 20th The Telegraph Schools’ chess tournament, here on Monday. Already assured of the title because of his better progressive score, Girish drew against Hemant Sharma of Delhi to tally nine points and extend his prodigious run in National and international events. Having the World under-10, Asian u-12 and the National u-11 titles under his belt, Kaushik picked up another FIDE-rated title with this victory.
