Double for Dushyant

NEW DELHI: Dushyant Singh Jamwal of Delhi won a double by claiming the titles in the over-40 and over-45 categories in the National Masters squash championship at the Delhi Gymkhana courts on Sunday.

Dushyant beat Sanjeev Anand, also of Delhi, 9-6, 9-4, 9-5 in 34 minutes in the over-40 final and outplayed O’Neil Pramanik of West Bengal 9-1, 9-1, 9-0 in the other age group final.

The results: Over-35: Final: Dalip Tripathi (Ben) bt Vickey Nayar (Chd) 9-1, 9-4, 9-6; Third place: Shammi Khurana (Del) bt Vivan Khubchand (Del) 9-6, 9-3, 9-7; Over-40: Final: Dushyant Singh Jamwal (Del) bt Sanjeev Anand (Del) 9-6, 9-4, 9-5; Third place: Mohanish Sawant (Mah) w.o. Col. A. L. Bahl (SSB); Over-45: Final: Dushyant Singh Jamwal (Del) bt O’Neil Pramanik (Ben) 9-1, 9-1, 9-0; Third place: Mukul Gupta (Del) w.o. Col. A. L. Bahl (SSB); Over-50: Final: Vijay Jani (Del) bt B. I. Singh (Del) 9-3, 9-4, 7-9, 10-8; Over-55: Final: B. I. Singh (Del) bt Rajiv Reddy (TN) 9-3, 9-1, 9-1.
