Gramsevaks to continue stir

HYDERABAD: AP Gramsevakula Sangham has decided to continue its stir seeking increased wages, recognition as class IV staff and implementation of assurances given by the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

At a press conference here on Sunday, additional president M. Anjaiah, vice-president P. Bhaskar, general secretary V. Ramulu said it was to protest the arrest of 3,500 gramsevaks here on August 6 and rough handling by police while members were staging a dharna here.

They charged the government with not holding out a clear assurance on the demands.
