Skill to the fore: Girijan students performing Dhimsa dance at a programme organised by Sri Satya Sai Seva Organisation to mark the conclusion of Prashanti Yatra in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. VISAKHAPATNAM: Impressive performances by rural and tribal students enthralled all at Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar here on Sunday during a programme organised to commemorate “Prasanti Yatra” at Puttaparthi last month. About 140 children from Araku and neighbouring areas and rural areas like Gollalapalem- all Satya Sai devotees- performed. Besides, highlights of the yatra were narrated and a multimedia presentation was made for the benefit of those who could not make it to Puttaparthi. A large number of devotees attended the programme organised by the Sri Satya Sai Seva organisations of the district. Former minister Bhattam Srirama Murthy inaugurated the programme. The children performed the tribal dance Dhimsa, Kolatam, Tappetagullu, Chekkabhajana, and Chidathalu. Many of the children are from Bala Vikas at Araku. ‘Anandajyothi,’ a scientific and spiritual exhibition, was organised on the occasion. A former professor from Vijayawada G.N. Murthy addressed the gathering.
