Youth hacked to death CRIME NOTES

Bangalore: A 22-year-old youth, who was released on conditional bail by the city police three days ago, was hacked to death by rival gang members while dancing in front of a Ganesha idol near Anupama School in Basaveshwaranagar on Sunday.

The police identified him as Mahesh alias Magi, an associate of Layout Manja.

They said he was wanted in several cases, including extortion, by the police.

Falls to death

A 34-year-old software engineer from West Bengal died when he accidentally fell from an apartment in the city on Sunday. Anirudha Chakroborthy, working for a software firm in Koramangala, was playing with his car key on the fourth floor of Wilson Mansion. He tossed it and in his bid to catch it, lost his balance and fell, the police said.

House gutted

A house, belonging to Chandramma, was gutted on Mysore Road near Kasturba Nagar on Sunday following a short-circuit.
