BANGALORE: Three men, who took away a rice-laden lorry after stabbing the driver near Nelamangala, were arrested by the Vivek Nagar police. The police gave the names of the arrested as Mushtaq Mohammad Usman (25) of Adugodi in the city, Dada Peer (24) of Gowrammana Halli in Chitradurga and Venkatesh of Durgi Nagar of Davangere. On September 3, around 12.50 a.m., the accused stopped the lorry at Billana Kote near Nelamangala, stabbed the driver and took away the vehicle. Later, they attempted to sell the rice near S.T. Bed Bridge in Vivek Nagar early on Sunday, according to the police. The police arrested them following a tip-off. The police said that during interrogation, the accused revealed their involvement in burglary and assault cases. In police netA man wanted in several theft cases has been arrested in the city. The name of the accused, who has been convicted previously, was given as Aslam alias Syed Aslam (23), a resident of Dr. Rajkumar Road near Kalyan Giri in Mysore. Goods worth Rs. 1.25 lakh were seized from him.
