Owner of Diana crash car ‘wants it back’

LONDON: Eleven years after Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris, the company which owns the ill-fated Mercedes has demanded it back in a bid to exploit the vehicle’s history.

The wreckage of the black S280 Mercedes, which hit an underpass wall in Paris, killing Diana, her boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed and their driver Henri Paul, still bears blood stains from the night of August 31, 1997, and is currently in custody of the Metropolitan Police. But now the Paris-based Etoile Limousines demands the wreckage of the car be returned to it. — PTI
