Sujith fashions Theni’s big win

THENI: Sujith Kannan’s all-round show (85 & four for 10) helped Theni defeat Dharmapuri by 163 runs in the TNCA under-14 inter-district cricket tournament here on Sunday.

At Theni: Theni 235 in 43.3 overs (Sujith Kannan 85, Adhi 32, Winston Churchill four for 33) bt Dharmapuri 72 in 19 overs (Sujith Kannan four for 10, Venkatesh three for two).

Kancheepuram 93 for eight in 28 overs (Krishnakumar three for five) bt Tiruvannamalai 42 in 22 overs. (Kancheepuram and Theni qualified for the next stage).

At Ramanathapuram: Tuticorin 92 in 49 overs (Vasanth 41) lost to Salem 96 for two in 21.3 overs (Manoj 65 n.o.).

Ramanathapuram 125 in 45.4 overs (Muneeswaran 37, Balaji three for 22) lost to Vellore 126 for five in 36.1 overs (Indadullah 37). (Salem and Vellore qualified for the next stage).

At Dindigul: Coimbatore 227 for five in 50 overs (C. Hari Nishanth 84, N. Jagadeesan 56 n.o., K. Nishanth 38) bt Dindigul 62 in 26.1 overs (Vignesh Karthik five for 14).

Tuticorin 195 for seven in 50 overs (K. Vignesh 57 n.o.) bt Villupuram 92 in 43.1 overs (Kamalakannan 30, J. Maria Sahaya Sandhya four for 13, S. Saravanakumar three for 19). (Coimbatore and Dindigul qualified for the next stage).

At Tiruchi: Tiruchi 67 in 33.1 overs (K. Vignesh four for 20) lost to Tiruvallur 68 for six in 20 overs (A. Deepak 31, B. Jayanth four for 19); Kanyakumari vs. Virudhunagar. (Match abandoned due to rain). (Tiruvallur and Tiruchi qualified for the next stage).

At Karur: Madurai 139 for nine in 50 overs (J. Prasannavenkatesan 52) bt Erode 66 in 35 overs (Manikandan four for 14, Yougaviayash four for 30).

Namakkal 114 in 36.5 overs (Aravind four for 39) lost to Perambalur 115 for six in 18.4 overs (Sathyamurthy 42, Sabareeswaran three for 58). (Madurai and Erode qualified for the next stage).

At Tiruvarur: Cuddalore vs. Tiruvarur & Nagapattinam vs. Pudukottai. (Both matches abandoned due to rain).

At Tirunelveli: Sivaganga vs. Tirunelveli & Puducherry vs. Krishnagiri. (Both matches abandoned due to rain).
