Gordhan Zadafia to float Hindutva-based party to counter BJP

BANASKANTHA (GUJARAT): Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party rebel leader Gordhan Zadafia on Sunday said that he would soon float a Hindutva-based party as an alternative to the BJP.

“The new party will go to the people, understand their problems and solve them at appropriate levels. This will be the first regional party in the State and will provide the people of Gujarat an alternative to the BJP,” Mr. Zadafia, who is touring the entire State to gather support for his new party, said here.

“We are yet to decide the name of the party, but we will be making the formal announcement by the end of this month,” he said.

“We will be fielding the maximum number of candidates against the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha elections,” Mr. Zadafia said.

Mr. Zadafia alleged that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had failed on every front, be it security, price-rise, education or employment.

“Modi’s tall claims of development are mere publicity stunts, there is no solid work done at ground level.” Mr. Zadafia said. — PTI
