‘Opposition shying away from debate’
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has likened the ongoing Government programmes with the purity of the ‘prasadam’ offered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
Claiming that the Congress Government was number one in implementation of the programmes, Dr. Reddy in a statement issued here on Sunday said the programmes were conceived as per the wishes of the people.
Stating that there was no compromise on the programme undertaken by the Congress Government, he said Arogyasri health scheme had been lauded across the country.
He lashed out at the Opposition parties for shying away from debate on Arogyasri in the just concluded monsoon session of the Assembly. These parties should clarify whether favoured its implementation or not, he said.
He accused them of raising important issues outside the Assembly after challenging the Government to convene it to discuss the same. But, when the Assembly was in session, they conveniently avoided them, he added.
