Farmer organisations threaten to disrupt Sonia’s meeting

HYDERABAD: The farmers’ organisations of various political parties on Sunday threatened to disrupt the public meeting of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi at Anantapur on September 11 if their leaders did not get an appointment to meet her for highlighting problems of ryots. The organisations met at the TDP office on Sunday. The AP Rytu Sangham (CPI) leader K. Ramakrishna said that they proposed to meet Ms. Gandhi to bring to her notice the shortage of fertilizer and diesel. They would also convey to her the disinclination of banks to provide loans to farmers whose earlier loans were waived.
