90 p.c. of present MLAs will lose in elections: Goud Goud to raise local issues during roadside meetings
Ready for action: NTPP chief T. Devender Goud after inaugurating the party’s district unit office in Nizamabad on Sunday. KARIMNAGAR: Nava Telangana Praja Party (NTPP) founder president T. Devender Goud’s Telangana Atma Gaurava Yatra would enter Karimnagar district on September 10 from Mallapur mandal on the borders of the district adjoining Adilabad district. As part of the yatra, Mr. Goud would visit the bereaved families of the Gulf fire mishap victims in Mallapur mandal and console them. He would also address a meeting launching an attack on the State government for failing to bring back the dead bodies and to stop migration of labourers in search of employment to Far-East nations. Joining the partyTalking to newsmen here on Sunday, NTPP leader E. Peddi Reddy said that Mr. Goud would address the beedi workers in the Metpally town and address roadside meetings in Korutla en route to Jagtial. On September 11, the yatra would proceed from Jagtial town to reach Karimnagar. On September 12, he would inaugurate the NTPP party office in Karimnagar and address local leaders, who joined the party en masse. Later, the yatra would proceed to Sultanabad and Peddapalli towns. On September 13, the yatra would proceed to Basanthnagar, Ramagundam and Godavarikhani towns and enter into Adilabad district. The same yatra would again re-enter Karimnagar from Godavarikhani on September 16 where Mr. Goud will address roadside meetings at the Singareni mines and proceed to Manthani. On September 17, the yatra would proceed to Manthani Mutharam and Jammikunta mandals. On September 18, the yatra would traverse through villages of Huzurabad and Kamalapur assembly segments and enter into Warangal district from Hasanparthi and reach Hanamkonda. Mr. Peddi Reddy said that Mr. Goud would raise the local issues during his roadside meetings and expose the neglect of the region by the Congress government. He said that they would intensify their movement for the formation of a Telangana state before November 1. From November 2 onwards, they would rewrite the boards of offices and educational institutions changing Andhra Pradesh to Telangana. He blamed local leaders for the neglect of the region since decades. Criticism of MLAsOur Nizamabad Staff Reporter adds: Meanwhile, in Nizamabad, Mr. Devender Goud predicted that 90 per cent of the members in the present Legislative Assembly will lose in coming elections. Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said they were holding the Assembly to ransom by wrestling with each other. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Devender Goud, who conducted road shows for two days in the district, said 70 per cent of members in the Assembly were not serious about discussions on issues and half of the members did not even turn up in the House. They just waved hands and no public issue was put to serious debate, he lamented. “Many members do not read drafts of the Bills nor try to know what is there in them. They keep quite when precious public lands are being sold away”, he commented. Joining forcesExpressing the hope that separate Telangana would be a reality in 2009, the former Home Minister said his party would strive to bring all Telangana supporters on one line for achieving the goal. “We will build a new and democratic Telangana involving all the people for corruption- and exploitation-free administration”. Mr. Devender Goud earlier opened the NTPP’s district unit office at Khaleelwadi.
