TIRUCHI: In a daring robbery in the outskirts of the city, a four-member gang allegedly looted gold jewellery, cash, cell phones, watches and a motorcycle from a house at Gandhi Nagar near Kollidam No. 1 Tollgate after threatening the inmates at knife-point in the early hours of Sunday. Police sources said the unidentified gang members, covering a portion of their face with handkerchiefs, knocked the house of M. Thangaraj, a civil engineer, and barged inside. They threatened the inmates at knife-point to part with the valuables. They allegedly took away gold jewellery weighing 12 sovereigns, cash amounting to Rs.7,000, two watches and equal number of cell phones and a motorcycle parked outside the house. On receipt of information, police officers conducted an inquiry at the scene of crime. The services of fingerprint experts were also utilised. The Kollidam police have registered a case.
