Bindra arrives in City

CHAMPION COMES VISITING: Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra arrives at the Chennai Airport on Saturday.
Chennai: Cocooned in Z-Plus security, usually provided to heads of State, Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra arrived at the Chennai airport on Saturday.
Bindra is in the city to receive an honorary doctorate from the SRM University during its fourth convocation on Sunday.
He and ISRO chairman Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, will receive their doctorates from Governor Surjit Singh Barnala.
Apart from this, Bindra will also lay the foundation stone for the University’s proposed sports academy.
Bindra’s flight, scheduled to arrive at 7.35 p.m., was delayed by 10 minutes. — Sports Reporter
