Ishant cleared for full training and match play

Mumbai: Ishant Sharma should be in action in the 2008-09 Zal Irani Cup opening match between Delhi and Rest of India at Baroda from September 24 to 28.

According to Paul Close, physio at the Bangalore-based National Cricket Academy, the Delhi paceman has recovered fully from a right buttock bruise and has been cleared for full training and to play matches.

Close has said in a report to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that it is upto the Indian team management to review his bowling workload.

Ishant limped off the field in the course of the third Idea Cup Test series against Sri Lanka in early August and subsequent diagnosis through MRI revealed that he had suffered a right buttock muscle contusion. He was at the NCA after the third Test for injury assessment and again reported to Close last Thursday for further assessment.
