A.P. monsoon session ends

HYDERABAD: The Treasury and Opposition benches traded charges against one another outside the Andhra Pradesh Assembly as the brief 10-day monsoon session concluded here on Saturday.

While the Congress accused the Opposition of holding the House to ransom and preventing the proceedings, the opposition parties charged the government with adopting an aggressive posture and preventing discussion on important issues such as fertilizer shortage, power cuts, price rice, problems confronting farm sector and sale of land. Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy told reporters that the “adamant attitude” of the TDP and other parties resulted in the precious time of the House being wasted.
