BSNL, PNB tie up for payment of phone bills

NEW DELHI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. on Friday collaborated with Punjab National Bank (PNB) for payment of telephone bills by post-paid mobile BSNL customers through latter’s 1,700 ATMs across the country. For fixed-line customers, this facility is now available in 19 major cities. Launching the new service here, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Kuldeep Goyal said: “We will extend the service for fixed-line customers throughout the country shortly.” According to PNB Chairman K. C. Chakrabarty, “It is a milestone for the bank. The technical teams of BSNL, and PNB made this concept a reality within a record time of 15 days.” — Special Correspondent
