VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra University’s inter-Collegiate tournament and teams’ selection trials will commence with the cross-country event for men and women at the D.N.R. Government Degree College for Women (Palakol) on September 12 and 13, the Director of Physical Education, AU, M. Syam Babu, said. Participants of the cross-country race should report to the organising secretary at the venue at 2 p.m. on September 12. The race would commence at 5 a.m. on September 13. Bare-foot running would not be allowed, Babu said. For other events the players should report at the venue at 8 a.m. on the first day of the competition. Other details can be had from the Principals of their respective colleges. Following is schedule of other events: Chess (men and women): Sir C.R.R. Degree College (Eluru) on September 15. Archery (men and women): Govt. Degree College (Paderu) on September 19. Volleyball (women): S.K.R. College for Women (Rajahmundry) on September 22. Table tennis (men): S.K.V.T. College (Rajahmundry) on September 24. Table tennis (women): St. Joseph’s College for Women (Visakhapatnam) on September 26. Kabaddi (men): M.R. College (Peddapuram). Badminton (men): GITAM College of Engineering (Visakhapatnam) on October 2. Badminton (women): S.K.S.D. Mahila Kalasala (Tanuku) on October 5. — Special Correspondent
