Proper investment helps in combating inflationary pressure, says expert

Manipal: H.S. Rao, General Manager (Personnel), Syndicate Bank, said on Thursday that good and proper investment could go a long way in combating inflationary pressures.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the Investors’ Meet organised here by the Manipal Institute of Management.

Mr. Rao said that the changing economic scenario with a fluctuating stock market had thrown up new challenges. While people found it enticing to invest in shares, they should to study the market conditions properly. They should acquaint themselves with the company’s financial standing before buying its shares. Investors should have a thorough knowledge about the fundamentals of the company.“Diversify your portfolio and be prepared to face some loss. Keep studying the market conditions. Do not indulge in speculative trade. You should limit on the amount you want to invest in the stock market. Do not be greedy and do not get frightened,” Mr. Rao said.

Director of the institute K.V.M. Varambally welcomed the gathering. Registrar of Manipal University G.K. Prabhu, Vice President (Investment) of Manipal Media Group Sadashiva Pai and student coordinators Pallavi and Vijay Nilakani were present.
