Rain plays spoilsport

CARDIFF (WALES): England won the ODI series 4-0 against South Africa after the fifth and final game scheduled here on Wednesday was abandoned due of rain.

The visitor was six for one in three overs when rain forced the players to leave the field. The match began two hours late but within minutes of the start, it had to be abandoned. South Africa lost Herschelle Gibbs early, caught behind by Matt Prior off Stuart Broad to leave the visitor on three for one. South Africa added another three runs before the rain came.
