THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Trivandrum meet of the Addicts Golfing Society of Southern India, now on to its seventh year, will be held at the Golf Club, here from Friday. The three-day event has received a record 120 entries, half of them from the four neighbouring States, indicating the vast popularity of the meet among golfers in the region.
Thanks to the rains over the past few days, the greens and fairways sport a well manicured look but could still be a challenging one for the participants through the next three days. The event will feature competitions for the G.V. Raja Memorial Cup (nett stableford singles), Balan Nambiar Memorial Cup (gross stableford singles) and the Dharm’s Cup (four ball v par in doubles) besides the Kerala Addicts Senior Golfer’s Trophy for senior golfers above the age of 60 years. The tournament will conclude on Sunday. — Special Correspondent
