Indian-Americans tend to go with Democrats: study

WASHINGTON: The Indian-Americans are more likely to prefer Democrats to Republicans than other Americans of comparable background, as their political attitude and values are akin to the former, claims a study conducted in Northern Virginia this summer by the Campaign for America’s Future. The study found that the participating voters saw themselves aligned closely with the Democrats and very far from the Republicans on a wide range of economic, cultural and international issues.

The participants strongly believed that the foreign policy of President George W. Bush during his eight-year tenure damaged America’s leverage around the world and frequently raised the global economy, Toby Chaudhuri, communication director for Campaign for America’s Future, said in a statement. — PTI
