Water supply disrupted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Supply of drinking water to Mannanthala and adjoining areas was disrupted on Tuesday night after a 250 mm HDPE line originating at the Peroorkkada reservoir of the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) burst near the Concordia School. Some areas near Mannathala would continue to receive water from the pipeline servicing Chencherry.

Normal supply in the damaged line is expected to be restored only by Wednesday evening.

The pumping of drinking water to the city from the KWA’s treatment facilities at Aruvikkara was disrupted for more than half-an-hour on Tuesday owing to power failure, Water Authority officials said.
