NEW DELHI: Mahindra United and Churchill Brothers tested their bench strength in a match they drew 1-1 in the 121st Osian’s Durand Cup football tournament, here on Tuesday. Earlier, Army XI overcame Mumbai FC 1-0 with S. Releng scoring in the 37th minute. Churchill Brothers took the lead through Reisangmi Vashum in the eighth minute when he stunned the opposition with a curling left-footer from the top of the box. Thirty minutes into the second-half, United striker Edeh Chidi headed in strongly from the middle of the box as K. Ajayan floated the ball superbly. After a rest day on Wednesday, JCT will meet Mahindra United in the first semifinal at 6.30 p.m. on Thursday followed by the Churchill Brothers-Sporting Clube de Goa match on Friday. — Special Correspondent
