Shane Watson set to return

DARWIN: Injury-plagued Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is set to return in the second one-day cricket clash against Bangladesh at the TIO Stadium, here on Wednesday.

Watson missed the first clash of the series on Saturday due to calf soreness as Australia was reduced to only 11 available players following the decision to send disgraced all-rounder Andrew Symonds home for missing a team meeting.

The 27-year-old is set to replace fellow Queenslander James Hopes, who opened the batting on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh batsman Roqibul Hassan has been ruled out of the remaining part of the one-day series with a fractured thumb.

Roqibul injured his right thumb while batting in the first one-dayer on Saturday and was advised a rest for at least six weeks. He will stay in Australia and return to Bangladesh with the rest of the squad. — Agencies
