Vrukshamitra award presented

VISAKHAPATNAM: Rokkam Madhusudhana Rao was on Saturday evening presented Vrukshamitra award of Vrukshamitra Kannam Srinivasa Rao Memorial Charitable Trust. Anakapalle MP Pappala Chalapathi Rao gave away the award. Professor of the Department of Environmental Sciences of Andhra University U.V.B. Reddy, SMS Dental Hospital Director S.M.S. Bitra,Vrukshamitra Awards Committee Chairman G.S.N.Sarma and Federation of Consumer Organisations District Chairman Chapa Kumar participated.

Mr. Madhusudhana Rao, a drawing teacher at the Port Krishna High School, Kailasapuram, is an NCC Officer, Scout Master, Junior Red Cross Councillor and National Green Corps teacher.

He has been endeavouring for improving environment through plantation drives for10 years and Pulse Polio and AIDS awareness programmes. A numismatist and philatelist by hobby, he had organized several exhibitions at district, state and national level.

He has received the Best Teacher award at the district level in 2004.
