Woman commits suicide

HYDERABAD: Minutes after her ‘lover’ attempted suicide following argument over foiled wedding plan, a 22-year-old woman, Krishnaveni, ended her life by consuming pesticide at Chintal in Jeedimetla on Monday, the police said.
The victim’s lover, Srinu, 27, who first consumed pesticide as she insisted on marrying him, was shifted to hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.
Hailing from West Godavari district, both Krishnaveni and Raju were living in rented houses at Chintal and working in different companies. The woman fell in love with Raju and wanted to marry him but her marriage plan went awry when her relative Ananta Laxmi too proposed to Raju.
Krishnaveni and Raju were discussing about the marriage plans in the latter’s house when he consumed pesticide.
