Hyderabad: The Madhapur police on Monday arrested an advocate and a relative of Congress Lok Sabha member Anjan Kumar Yadav, in separate cases of cheating and forgery.

The accused advocate, ‘Bullet’ Subba Reddy, had allegedly occupied a plot at Gurukul Trust in Madhapur using forged sale deeds and began to construct a house there, Madhapur Inspector N. Bhujanga Rao said.

Complaint lodged

A case was registered following a complaint lodged by the land owner K. Pratibha (35), a housewife from Srinagar Colony.

Investigation revealed that the original land owners -- Sita and Indra Devi -- had sold the land to Ms. Pratibha in 1995.

“The two women confirmed this,” the Inspector said.

Subsequently, the police found that the advocate got fabricated two sale deeds stating that the land was sold by Sita and Indra Devi by forging their signatures.

In the second case, he was charged with selling open plots belonging to others located in the same area to different persons claiming them as his own.

Society plots sold

Mr. Yadav’s relative, Srisailam Yadav and his associates, Sudhir Kumar and Gopal Reddy, were arrested on charge of selling two plots measuring 750 square yards belonging to a society located at Gurukul Trust claiming them as their own.

Verification

Verification of documents established that plots originally belonged to Sita Kumari and Ganesh Lal, the Inspector said. The duo later sold the plots to the society.

The accused persons created fake documents stating that the society sold the land to them and illegally occupied the land, the Inspector said.
