Ramzan begins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Muslim holy month of Ramzan began on Sunday night following the sighting of the new moon at Ponnani. All major Kazis, including Panakkad Sayed Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal, Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar, Sayed O.P.M. Muthukoya Thangal and Nalakathu Mohammed Koya, confirmed the sighting of the Ramzan crescent. Muslims will begin fasting from the dawn of Monday. — Staff Reporter
