India fourth

New Delhi: India fell out of the medal bracket in the 14th Asian junior men’s volleyball championship in Teheran after losing to Pakistan 0-3 in the third-place play-off on Sunday.

The Indian spikers were earlier downed by China 1-3 in the semifinals on Saturday.

Though the Indian juniors bagged the first set 21-25, China made a commendable comeback to win the next three sets 25-18, 25-19 and 25-23 and wrap up the match.

India’s Mandeep Singh and China’s Chen Ping were later adjudged best players of the match for their respective sides. — PTI
