Adequate compensation for Christians sought

CHENNAI: The CPI (M) state committee on Saturday demanded adequate compensation for Christians who were attacked by Sangh Parivar in Orissa. In a statement here, state unit secretary N. Varadarajan condemned the demonstrations by BJP in Tamil Nadu against the Christian educational institutions that remained closed on Friday to express their protest.

“We doubt whether the BJP is planning an attack on minorities. The State government should take precautionary action to stop the designs of the communal forces,” he said. — Special Correspondent
