Preparatory camp begins
BANGALORE: A preparatory camp for India ‘A’ players commenced here on Friday. The team will clash with Australia ‘A’ here in a three-day game from September 3 and later play a set of matches in Hyderabad and Chennai as part of a Tri-Series that will also feature New Zealand ‘A’.
The camp’s opening day featured just ten players from the squad as skipper S. Badrinath and deputy Parthiv Patel are in Sri Lanka while Mohammad Kaif and Robin Uthappa are busy playing the KSCA all-India invitation tournament final.
Coach Dav Whatmore supervised the camp that had fitness assessment, nets and fielding practice as its preamble. The Simon Katich led Australia ‘A’ team reached the city in the evening. — Principal Correspondent
