MEG posts win

BANGALORE: Madras Engineering Group & Centre (MEG), after its stunning loss to Jindal Steels (Bellary), regrouped in fine fashion to outlast fancied South Western Railway (SWR) 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-13 in the State ‘A’ division volleyball league championship at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium outdoor courts, here on Thursday.

This was the railwaymen’s first defeat.

Jindal Steel Works (JSW), however, continued its winning spree taming Sports Authority of India (SAI) in five sets. Jindal won 19-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 15-11.

ITI earned a walk-over from BSNL in the day’s other clash.
