JAIPUR: Rajasthan has signed a letter of intent with the Practical Training Centre (PTC) of the Netherlands for operating a training programme in horticulture for farmers, gardeners, vegetable-growers, dealers in agricultural produce and government officials at the Durgapura Agricultural Centre here. State Agriculture Minister Prabhulal Saini said the farmers would benefit from the training in latest techniques. PTC-Netherlands International Director Michelle Van Mill said Rajasthan had the potential to become an exporter of horticulture products if its resources were exploited properly and the farmers used the knowledge gained in the training programme. Principal Agriculture Secretary Ashish Bahuguna said the agreement would change the horticulture scenario. An international horticulture innovation and training centre will be set up at a cost of Rs.19.98 crore here. The LoI was signed by CEO of Rajhans M.M. Joshi on behalf of the State government and International Business Manager Nen Van Den Brink on behalf of PTC-Netherlands.
