Special Correspondent

Participates in signature campaign seeking Bharat Ratna for

N. T. Rama Rao

HYDERABAD: Senior Congress MLA from Shadnagar, P. Shankar Rao, caused a mild flutter by walking up to Telugu Desam Legislature Party office in the Assembly premises on Wednesday and participating in a signature campaign seeking award of Bharat Ratna for former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao.

After signing the register, Dr. Rao said N.T. Rama Rao was not only known for playing a range of roles in Telugu films but doing good to the poor. He felt the veteran actor richly deserved the award and hence appended his signature.

Earlier, leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu and several TDP legislators, put in their signatures as part of the campaign being run by a NTR fan under the banner of International NTR Cultural Association. The association plans to seek one crore signatures.
